Anthony Mottram claims to have been approached by one Ilya Kuryakin in his Moscow Hotel (the Stalin and Top Set; supposedly 5 star). He has sent this picture of the event:

Do not worry if you find this distasteful. Some of you want this blog to be bright and sunny and useful, I know. All right then, here’s a priceless piece of advice: make sure the kitchens that you do love avoid the same fate.
