I know, I know – I’ve such a back-log and today is the Chelsea Flower Show. I gain at 5.30.

But that State Banquet gown is troubling me. It was by Tom Ford apparently. Looked very bolted on, great thick bandages over the shoulders and across the embonpoint, and I can’t take a halter neck. What about the pit-length gloves? We haven’t seen them in years. It all looked rather awkward to me. As for the day-outfit, the little ratty bolero-jacket I took for a cardy on TV but I see it was in fact silk. Both ensembles had full skirts, but, for a tall person, wouldn’t a slimmer line be better?
