The Blond Multi in Australia – Mystery Deepens

Tuesday 6th July 2010

On Saturday the Blond Multi was in a sudden emergency boarding for Australia. Just like that. One minute lunching with his mother, Lady Carmichael, near Godalming, the next mounting the air for Sydney.

But why? What sinister tug has dragged him there? With these high-level business persons anything is possible. I suspect someone owes him money. They’ve  lured him to Australia with promises of slap-up dinners – ham in Coca Cola, Surf ‘n Turf, pineapple, pea and sweet corn salad with sardine garnish.

But it’s a trap. They’re going to kidnap him.

Here is the view from the Blond Multi’s hotel room in Sydney. It came through this morning.  I do wonder. Isn’t there something a little creepy about it? Could it be the vista from a place of confinement?

I do hope we will not soon be making tearful appeals on TV: ‘Bring back the Blond Multi! Bring back this gorgeous Poor Little Rich Gay! It will be worth your while.’

    Dear Adrian Edge
I see that you have been bringing us these bulletins from London for exactly one year. Thank you. They have been a relevation.
The anniversary prompts the thought that while in your stories the rotation of the seasons is very marked – the sales, the parties, the summer villas – the passage of time is not. I was wondering, is this a gay thing? In the straight world, it’s all about life events and time rolling on; mostly this seems to be connected to children growing up. Among the gays, it is all somehow a glorious present, though a weirdly unstable one.
I should be grateful for your guidance on this matter, which I find somehow unsettling.

This requires some thought. I’m about to board so haven’t the time but, in haste, moisturiser does work.

Further to my earlier frivolous reply: I do hope that Poor Little Rich Gays are not vicious. Holding time and decay at bay is all very well, but wilful obliviousness to increasing infirmity and decline in others cannot be supported. It is more an Earls Court gay attitude than a Poor Little Rich…. who we know to be brave and undeluded.
