How I Voted

Friday 7th May 2010

I voted Labour, then put on Prada.

But the result is perfect Poor Little Rich Gay.

I rather like your evening paper’s headline tonight “GET OUT OF No 10” – I picked it up at the airport on my way back to the States after accompanying my (non-dom friend) to London who wanted to vote in person (and no she did not vote for your labour party but for your Republicans). I see she is now in fashion…

At least for you Adrian, Prada is still fashionable. But for how long?

    why is the result PLRG?

You were in a minority if you voted Labour. Is that what you like about it? Is it because you think it is ”the right thing to do”?

I think I’m right in saying that there can’t NOT be a Prime Minister. Therefore poor old Gordon Brown, now increasing a dead-ringer for Peter Grimes, has no choice but to remain at Numero Dix. But I could be wrong. If only Lord Arrowby were contactable, I could confirm…. but he is throbbing at the nation’s heart, trying to bang the politicians’ heads together

Fractured, bizarre, not tub-thumping. It would be most delightful if the Tories got together with the Lib Dems and possibly rather marvellous and productive. But will it happen? What is Lord Arrrowby, flitting behind the scenes as we speak, doing about it?

  6. Adrian Edge says:

Not a minority in my seat which was Lab hold with swing away from Lib Dem. I had no idea how to vote. On the way to the Polling Station I suddenly felt sorry for Gordon Brown. But don’t think I’m not afraid. I don’t like to see falling markets. I would have liked a decisve result. I’m comforting myself with facial-scrub thoughts: I think I will buy Dr Brandt’s Microddermabrasion Creme at £63. Brand new skin from Dr Brandt.

Why is the result PLRG? Please explain? There may be another election this year – perhaps October 14TH? Interested to hear angry conversations are being denied by some between Brown and Clegg last night……..not a good sign for a lib/lab pact. Your seat is full of benefit claimants who always vote for state handouts. All inner city seats are the same. It is the Rich who support them through taxes and progressive taxes. Otherwise it is the idiotic Bourgeoise that vote Labour – those who have inherited wealth and not really had to work for it. Those that are net takers from the state should not be allowed to vote.

We have a ”caretaker” (constitutional rules – although our constitution is unwritten) prime minister at the moment. In my view he needs to take care and get out of number 10 ASAP. (If all votes were equal – i.e. all seats were equal size he would have gone by now. Tories got 36% of the votes which is what Labour got in 2005.). Give him until Tuesday otherwise the people will tell him to go. No lib/con deal therefore minority conservative government then another election this year to give conservatives large majority. The whole thing is a total mess at the moment – expect the markets to plunge next week, sterling to plummet and gilt yields to rise and higher mortgage rates.

If Labour, then Prada is PLRG then count me out. Only basic rate taxpayers and potentially higher rate tax evaders vote Labour.

  10. Douglas Coleville says:

Edge – why is result PLRG?

    Dear Adrian Edge

Let’s hope the blog moves on quickly from the subject of politics; it seems to be bringing out the beast in some of your correspondents.

Mr Coleville has now barked the same question at you three times, rather like Paxman: “Why is the result PLRG”. But you have already provided an answer: “Fractured, bizarre, not tub-thumping”.

In other words, Poor Little Rich Gay, not Poor Little Rich Shouty Gay.

    This I think is welcome.
