It is a plant and very rare. Robert Nevil could not accompany me because rellies in Beaconsfield were moving and therefore shedding household goods, including deceased Aunt Bicky\u2019s good hock glasses; absolutely essential that they were grasped into the RN sack apparently. But what about me? What about <em>my<\/em> white wine glasses, hit by the Credit Crunch? I\u2019m down to the last four. Or\u00a0 my dinner plates?\u00a0 I need to re-plate my home. Where is a harlequin set ? Hadn\u2019t these people got anything to offer?<\/p>\n<p>Robert Nevil and I very much have gardening in common. I\u2019ve kept quiet about this side \u2013 not sure whether it is truely Poor Little Rich Gay. Now, I\u2019m beginning to wonder.<\/p>\n<p>At Langthorn\u2019s Plantery, which, as it happens is near Stanstediana (it\u2019s an airport), seven or eight people were waiting in the shed to pay for their plants. At the till, an elderly lady of great glamour \u2013 good camel coat, black tights, excellent black patent leather flatties, good modern hair, lovely blue eyes. She addressed the nurseryman: \u2018Now, look here, have you got any help yet? My son, and he\u2019s sixty this year &#8230;\u2019 (which means she must have been at least eighty, doesn\u2019t it?) \u2018he\u2019s all over the place and he hasn\u2019t got any help.\u2019 Then she turned and addressed the company. \u2018We all rely on this place, don\u2019t we? But they must have more help.&#8217; Then she veered in another direction. &#8216;I\u2019ll be back, you know.\u00a0 I\u2019m still having treatment. By rights I should have been dead a month ago. But I&#8217;m not. I&#8217;m here.
