Sunday 23rd February 2014<\/p>\n

We begin the 90th Birthday for the Gay Mother in one and a half hours. I’m to fetch Cousin Paquita from Reddon, whose fastness she now rarely leaves. She would only come if fetched. Her husband and sister-in-law, Cousin Teddy and Cousin Lunetta, have not gone down the drive in 20 years, not even for a funeral.<\/p>\n

This afternoon’s function is in fact for the village, Church and neighbours. The Gay Mother has banned all speeches and outfits. Tomorrow is the actual day.<\/p>\n

So in the meantime, here are some shoes from last week’s Alice Temperley Show. Upper frockage is of little importance apparently, judging by what one saw, but shoes are everything.<\/p>\n
