I can see readers haemorrhaging (look at that spelling!) if I meditate on how Wotan is a Poor Little Rich Gay.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t know what I\u2019m talking about, do you?<\/p>\n

But he is. You\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n

So today is frockage and what you\u2019ve all been aching to know \u2013 what was in those shopping bags I laid (temporarily)before Buckingham Palace on the Royal Wedding eve?<\/p>\n

I went to Prada in Harrods. Separates, you recall, were my object. That\u2019s jacket and trousers, like a suit, but not matching.<\/p>\n

Separates are huge, this season. Sonny Hammond and I got that clear in Rome, while whizzing from Yves St Laurent to Prada on the motorino.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d seen something in Rome Prada but they didn\u2019t have it in stone. By miracle, at Harrods it was in stock. In Rome, they\u2019d given me the numbers. Complicated. So I forked. Terrible price but a trouser in a fine skin-like fabric with such seams \u2013 the whole suggesting a beautifully-made lizard glove or shoe.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d also got that Bath Abbey wedding in mind. The Gay Mother and I are to join the Grandmother\u2019s procession. That\u2019s Aunt Lavinia. I\u2019m to be in separates although \u2018invite\u2019 says \u2018Lounge suit\u2019. Joshua Baring, who knows everything and can do anything, is looking for some important masculine diamonds for me to wear.<\/p>\n

Then I thought of a black summer jacket.Prada offered another miracle for \u00a3680. So I went downstairs in Harrods and got, at Topman, a black tuxedo (what they\u2019re calling it) with satin edging, really nicely made for \u00a385. It has trousers, also with edging, for \u00a335. Got them too.<\/p>\n

At The Library, Brompton Cross (it\u2019s a frock shop), they had double, slash, slash late, late sale on, so I got a Fabrizio del Carlo knit in white for \u00a3100 \u2013 investing for the coming winter. Also sister to the champagne cardy, also Fabrizio, brought there in the Jan sale, \u00a0which got snagged in the Tudor House AND was touch and go as to washing.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve been longing to hear about that, too.<\/p>\n

Yes, you have.<\/p>\n

It came through all right. Except the sleeves are quite a bit longer, but when on seem to go back to the right size. Anyway, Val will solve. What that slightly tilting greatness doesn\u2019t know about fabric management….<\/p>\n
